Frozen Synapse is the ultimate tactical game on PC and Mac. It brings the simultaneous turn-based strategy genre bang up-to-date and lets you give detailed, accurate orders to your squad: classic gameplay with a modern interface. Plan your moves, test them out, then hit the "Prime" button: both you and your enemy's turns are executed simultaneously.

Gameplay
Let us begin. Gameplay is simultaneous turn-based tactical. This means that you choose your unit's actions, "prime" them, and pray that you outwit your opponent. In Frozen Synapse, there are four aspects to combat: Range, Stillness, Cover and Aiming. All four choose the outcome in a firefight. There are also various tasks to complete throughout the game. You will rout the enemy, escort someone to safety, protect hostages and hack systems. The campaign is essentially practice for the multiplayer mode.

Story
You are Tactics, and you are out to free Markov Geist from Enyo:Nomad. You will lead your units to victory through several mission types. Before any mission, you are shown some rather beautiful art as it is narrated over.

Overall, the game is beautifully done, with ambient music to match. It is delightfully challenging, and the online is fun as well. Frozen Synapse has earned a grilled cheese rating.
